Joel Ramsay, 21, originally from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, but now living in Cardiff; began his music career at the age of 13 performing in different bands. In his first band Joel was originally the drummer for a few years before switching over to guitar, and eventually lead vocals. Joel’s first band was called ‘The Cardinal Sins’, before moving onto his next band, ‘The Elevation’, then his last band was called ‘Fuzion’, where they enjoyed quite a big following on the live music scene.

Now after putting in the ground work and gaining experience with bands Joel is focusing on building up his own solo music career; he is inspired by acts like, Ben Howard, Biffy Clyro and other artists such as Zomboy and Skrillex have inspired him to get the ball rolling with his own solo music career. Joel is also inspired by his friends and family who give him constant support in all he does. Joel’s main ambitions within his own music career is to be able to travel all over the world performing in his own shows, meet other musicians that can help him improve as a musician and to build up a successful recording career, and get his music heard by a wider audience.

Monday's headline

One of the first bands to be selected to enter our £5,000 music give away competition is the Swansea band, Monday's headline. We are also trying to help them get to the next step in the music industry, we believe that they have huge portential, so keep a look out for this band, here is their biography;

Mondays Headline are four 24 year olds from Swansea. Front man Matt Turner and guitarist Kristian Tabram formed a band along with friends they made at University in the late 00's. After finishing uni, Matthew and Kristian moved back to Swansea. After a brief hiatus for the band they recruited long time friend Nick Richards on the bass and this is when the band became known as Monday's Headline. The band began writing new material and touring Swansea for about a year before their original drummer left. Tom Waters joined shortly after to complete the line up and took up duties on drums. From here the band recorded their first self titled EP in early 2012. The album was recorded and produced by Romesh Dodangoda at his Long Wave Studio in Cardiff. The E.P is available to listen to on the band's official website www.mondaysheadline.com, iTunes, Spotify and Amazon. The bands is getting local and national radio attention, and are now headlining gigs at thought after venues across the country; this including two recent headlining shows at the world famous Dublin Castle in Camden Town, London. The band are constantly working hard, writing, recording and gigging to achieve their life ambition of getting signed to a record label.
